Since 2004, I-TECH has been a vital partner in strengthening Namibia’s healthcare system. Based in Windhoek, our work extends across the country to address critical health challenges, specifically focusing on the high prevalence of HIV and the shortage of skilled healthcare workers. By partnering with the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS), the University of Namibia, and the Namibia Defence Force, we ensure that high-quality clinical care and prevention services reach the communities that need them most.
Our footprint on this map represents two decades of evolving support. Initially focused on the nationwide training of physicians, pharmacists, and nurses in HIV and TB care, I-TECH has expanded into direct service delivery. This includes flagship prevention programs like DREAMS for adolescent girls, Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC), and the rollout of PrEP. Through the use of innovative distance learning technologies like Project ECHO, we continue to bridge the gap between urban centers and rural facilities, ensuring a robust and sustainable health workforce for all of Namibia.
